Use it in the kitchen
When I was in a cleaning frenzy in my kitchen a few years ago, I ran out of cleanser. Not wanting to run out to the store, I mixed baking soda and anti-bacterial dish soap together and used it to scrub down my counter tops. Liking the results, I did it again on my stove top. It’s slightly abrasive, but didn’t scratch the surface. It turned out to be a cheap, safe, and effective cleanser that I continue to use today.
Use it in the bathroom
Recently, I ran out of my abrasive bathroom cleaner and tried one of the spray bathroom cleansers I found in the back of my linen closet. Due to the fumes, I had to open the windows. Not wanting to pass out, I decided to try something else.
I saw a YouTube video by Pretty Frugal Living where she also uses this mixture in the bathroom. I decided to try the dish soap and baking soda method and it worked just as well. I used 1 cup of dish soap and 1/2 cup of baking soda. Also, I didn’t have to go overboard with the rinsing out of fear of leaving harmful chemicals behind.
This is an effective and inexpensive way to clean your kitchen and bathroom. It’s also safe to use. Since we’re trying to spend less and be healthy, I’m going to start using this instead of the harsh products you find in the store.
