Choosing to be Positive
I missed posting Sunday. Had I done a normal “New Year’s Resolution”, I would have felt like a big failure. However, since God repeatedly reminds me that His mercies are renewed daily, I see each day as a new beginning. Just because I missed Sunday, doesn’t mean that I should miss the whole week. And, even if I miss a week, there is always next Sunday.
I’m learning to not be so hard on myself. However, I feel that God is now working on another part of me. Keeping myself super busy. I’m tired often and, even though my days are full, sometimes I feel that I didn’t accomplish much.
I’m Tired
I work a lot and between work, trying to spend quality time with my daughter, taking care of the house, and making time for family and church, it doesn’t leave a lot of time for the things that I would like to get done. I love to write and I keep trying to carve out time to write, edit, and work on business opportunities. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough time in a day (or week!) to get it all done. After trying to get it all in, I’m tired. Hence, no post on Sunday.
There is a saying I hear quite often. “If the devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy.” My gosh, this week was a bit much. My site is Busy and Loving It, but that’s when I’m busy spreading the Word of God. However, I’m not going to let this week get me down.
Putting God First
As I look at the paragraphs above, I already see what the problem is. Work was coming first! That must stop immediately. Each day must start with the Word of God and with God. God gives me the direction I should go. I need to take a step back and let him guide me throughout the day. Me trying to lead is leading me in too many different directions.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8 (ESV)
I plan to let God guide me and build me up. I choose to start each morning in His presence. In order to move forward, I have to get out of my own way.
How do you start your day?
Have a blessed and prosperous week!
