Let your Requests be Made Known to God
Going it Alone
I’ve spent most of my adult life relying only on myself. I’d been disappointed by so many people that I simply gave up on having faith in anyone but myself. I believed in God, I believed in Jesus but I didn’t understand the Bible and barely knew what it actually said. I moved along in life doing things my way because I was the only one that I could trust.
When I was finally saved and born again, I poured myself into the Bible. I wanted to understand everything. I read over and over how God wants us to give our problems to Him, however, I was still stuck in that mode of taking care of myself. I would take the big problems to God after my feeble attempts to find an answer didn’t work. But, anything small I felt was too insignificant to take to the Lord and I dealt with them on my own.
Small Problems
Recently, I had a dilemma. There was something I wanted to purchase to help me with my online business. It didn’t cost a lot, but I’d had the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago and made the wrong decision. I remembered a previous Bible study where the leader was trying to impress upon us that God wants to hear it all; the large and the small. I prayed about my question and asked for specific ways to understand the answer was from Him. I got my answers within a minute.
I don’t know why I was shocked because God says to bring it to Him, but I was. I was literally shaking and crying. I moved forward and was very happy that I did. Praise Jesus!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6
Humble Prayer
Supplication is the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly. I was very earnest and humble. I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t want another negative situation. I thought it was too small of thing to ask, but I had faith in His Word.
We are told to bring it all to Him. No matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you, our Father wants us to take it to Him. Whatever it is, let your requests be made known to God. I’m learning to do this and I’m seeing how God is moving in my life.
God wants us to discuss these things with Him. Just as a loving father wants his children to share with him, God the Father wants us to share with Him. He will listen to all we have on our hearts. Just take it to Him.
Prayer for Today
Our Father, I thank you for the guidance You give. I’m thankful that You’re willing to listen to everything we have to say, no matter how small it is. I pray that everyone who reads this message will trust You and bring whatever they’re holding in their hearts to You.
Amen
Have a blessed day!
